Paris is Liberated!
June 26, 2007 | Paris Hilton & Other Nonsense
Wait, didn't that happen in 1945?
Oh, Paris HILTON...! Got it.

Yes, Paris was freed from jail right after midnight and, of course, she just couldn't pass up the chance to play up to the cameras, forgoing the opportunity to avoid the “blinding flurry of flashes” for a “special secret exit” alluded to by her lawyer, Richard Hutton.
“She wanted to come out just like everybody else,” he said. And she did, but not before she could put on “a change of clothes and other accessories,” including a sage jacket over a white shirt and skinny jeans.
What a triumphant -- and, more importantly, stylish -- return!
Gosh, I can’t wait to read the book about her prison hardships -- Illegally Blonde -- see the movie, and then the Broadway musical thirty years from now… on the moon.

i can only think of MLK's "i have a dream speech" since paris and mlk are so alike. she has suffered so much and has been so wronged and suffered so much in her hard life
"Free at last! Free at last!
Thank God Almighty, she is free at last!"
you're right big joe. paris and isaiah washington should go on tour together and give inspirational speeches. can't think of two people i admire more.
oh, Candy...its soo cute to see you get carried away like that....but somehow I see that coming too.
The American Broadcast Media Is An Embarrassment!!! Paris Hilton's release was turned into a sick and twisted spectacle, signaling the decline of our society...one that now gladly and cherrfully celebrates "Drunk Drivers"!!!
This, in a climate fostered by smiling news anchors, from national to local news broadcasts, who were leading their news coverage with the staged "red carpet" like release of Paris Hilton--which looked like an grossly inappropriate self congratulatory party, considering the circumstances surrounding Ms. Hilton's arrest and incarceration.
Further, I am shocked and highly dismayed with Larry King's actions concerning his personally kicking Michael Moore off of his show,,,in order for him to do an interview with Paris Hilton instead??? Yes, this is the same Michael Moore who is fighting for better health care for all Americans, as profiled in his new movie documentary "Sicko"!!! With all this press hype going on, you would have thought Christ had returned, not the tawdry convicted drunk driver which is Paris Hilton!!!
Shame On The American Press!!! We Are In the Middle Of A War...And Over 90 Members Of Our Military Have Already Been Killed This Month Alone...And In Our Country, Hundreds Of Thousands Of People Come Up Missing Every Year...With A Hundred Thousand, Who...On Average Will Never Be Found...And Will Remain Missing...Yet The American Press Devotes Precious Media Time, And Coverage...With Which They Could Collectively Be Saving Lives, To Rich Trash Like Paris Hilton And Family!!!
Just Perverse!!!
Zip-you're right. The court system will never strongly go after drunk drivers because there are too many attorneys and judges that drive drunk regularly. Larry King is not a serious nor great journalist, though; he softlines all questions to his guests; he never holds their feet to the fire. It is pathetic that Paris gets all this media attention when there are much more important issues at hand.
Jo Jo...you've got it exactly!!! The authorities don't wish to tighten up the laws because of what you cited. Should they, the law markers...and judges, their families, or friends, find themselves busted for drunk driving...they want an out for themselves!!!
And this cheery press coverage concerning Paris Hilton will only encourage more potential drunk drivers to break the law and put peoples' lives at risk...because of how this situation is being mishandled as simple a cute joke!!!

That's the first time I've seen her with roots!!!
