War of the Worlds II: Tom Cruise vs. The Germans
June 25, 2007
German officials have refused to allow filmmakers of Tom Cruise’s latest movie “Valkyrie” -- a World War II drama about a plan to assassinate Adolph Hitler-- to shoot on location in German military sites because of Tom's faith in Scientology.
“[Filmmakers] will not be allowed to film at German military sites if Count Stauffenberg is played by Tom Cruise, who has publicly professed to being a member of the Scientology cult,” a Defense Ministry spokesman said.
Germany does not recognize the Church of Scientology as a church. According to Reuters, Berlin believes Scientology “masquerades as a religion to make money.”
Say what --?! Scientology -- a money-making scheme? Why, I never...
And Germans disapproving of a minority religion? Shocking!
Sounds like it's time to send in the only American mediator that the Germans respect:

tom should lay hitler-a short controlling crazy man.
Hannah-you've obviously never had an alcoholic parent :-/
They are banning Tom Cruise because he is making a new movie about the Nazis!!!
As much as I think Scientology is a joke, it's ridiculous to discriminate against him because of his beliefs, no matter how crazy they are. Zip's right-it must be because they're doing a film about the Nazis.
Finally, someone is saying this out loud, that Scientology is a cult, not a religion. Auf wiedersehen, Tom.
$cientology is not a religion.
"Scientology, at its lower levels, is, similarly a refried and also perverted version of Jungian free association techniques that also, has been laced with Alestair Crowley's satanic invocations which strip you of your conscience, while you are being told you are on the bridge to "Total Freedom" by a man twice convicted of FRAUD who was a master stage hypnotist - L Ron Hubbard."
"The preponderance of the evidence indicates that the religion claim is merely a tax-evasion ruse and a fig leaf for a hugely profitable enterprise, where the logic of profitability and profit-making dictates all actions. Scientology is in reality a holding company, a business empire earning profits from a variety of subsidiaries. It is guided by considerations of economic consequences and benefits, a strict business strategy."
Ex-Scientology Executive Robert Vaughn Young in a 1993 Issue of Quill Magazine Scientology from the Inside Out,
"I trained Scientology Public Relations [staff] .... how to [ make scientology] appear to be a religion."

I know it's sad but I can't get enough of that picture of the Hoff!!! It makes me giggle.
