"Porcupines need to feel good about themselves, too," says Grazer
Award-winning film producer Brian Grazer recently made a special holiday donation in honor of those porcupines that have suffered from cancer.
Grazer gave three inches of his quills to the American Animal Hospital Association, who will use the sharp spines to provide wigs to porcupines that have lost their own quills from chemotherapy treatment.
“Having a serious illness is tragic,” Grazer said. “But for porcupines to lose their quills, their very identity and defense against predators, is beyond unfair. I am proud to be able to arm them with their protective needles once again.”
Grazer said his haircut was a long time coming and he was more happy to take the pruning shears to his quills.
“Just being able to beautify one porcupine, and raise their self-esteem, makes a big difference,” he noted.
Adolfo Gianni, owner of Salon Palazzo Day Spa, said anyone interested in following Grazer’s footsteps can contact him at the salon, located on Canon Drive in Beverly Hills.
“It’s so important to porcupines that have lost their needles to feel good about themselves again,” Gianni said.
