Bristol Palin and Her Baby Daddy Split? You Betcha!
March 11, 2009 | Political Humor, Pop Culture

Deep thoughts by Levi: *GULP*
Bristol Palin and her “white trash” fiancé-slash-baby-daddy Levi Johnston have broken up, reports People. The split apparently happened a few weeks ago, perhaps once Levi realized he could finally chuck the harness around his neck that Governor Palin had used to lead him around the media like a prize stallion.
While a source tells People the break-up was “mutual,” the statement issued by Bristol tells a different story. Via AP:
Bristol Palin said in a statement issued through a spokeswoman for her mother’s political action committee that she was “devastated.” “Unfortunately, my family has seen many people say and do many things to `cash in’ on the Palin name,” she said. “Sometimes that greed clouds good judgment and the truth.”
But no worries! We haven’t seen the last of Levi Johnston, who invariably will be making appearances on America’s Most Wanted, Cheaters, Cops, Dr. Phil….

John Edwards’ Inspiring Journey from Presidential Hopeful to Cheatin’ Baby Daddy
March 5, 2009 | Political Humor, Pop Culture
Although former Senator John Edwards admitted to an affair with Rielle Hunter, he has steadfastly refused to admit he’s the father of Rielle’s baby, even letting a close friend and campaign aide publicly assume responsibility for the child — until now.
Supposedly.
The National Enquirer, which has been hot on Johnny Boy’s tail, reports that Johnny confessed to his cancer-stricken wife Elizabeth that he is indeed the father of Francis Quinn, almost 1. A campaign aide, Andrew Young, had earlier claimed that he, not Johnny Boy, was the baby daddy. Curiously, Rielle has not named the child’s father.
Hell, who needs The Young and the Restless when we’ve got Capitol Hill?

Sam Donaldson Retiring, Looking Forward to Finally Taking Advantage of Early-Bird Specials
February 18, 2009 | Political Humor, Pop Culture

ABC News veteran Sam Donaldson, one of the most recognizable figures in political television broadcast journalism, will retire from full-time work at the end of next week after 41 years as an investigative reporter, network news anchor and talking head, the Washington Post reports.
“Some people leave the business bitter, feeling they’ve been cast out,” Donaldson said. “Or they hang on too long. I don’t ever want to get in that position.”
Many ceremonial events are planned to celebrate the career of the Emmy-winning 74-year-old newsman. In fact, CandyKirby.com has learned that ABC plans to retire Sam’s microphone, while the National Geographic Museum wants his eyebrows.

Governor Iceman Cometh to New Mexico
February 9, 2009 | Political Humor, Pop Culture
After months of rumors and speculation, Val Kilmer has confirmed he is “seriously considering” running for governor of his home state of New Mexico next year.
Val put down his Double-Whopper with cheese and told the Associated Press:
“I’m looking for ways to be contributive. And if that ends up being where I can make a substantial contribution, then I’ll run. [And] if I run, I’m going to be the next governor.”
A “contributive” AND modest candidate! Looking forward to hearing about how he plans to use “strategery” in his campaign.
