Fashion Designers to Use Actual Hangers on Catwalk

NEW YORK — In a swift and decisive response to the country’s economic crisis, American fashion designers have banded together and decided to use wire hangers in lieu of more expensive models in the upcoming shows at Toronto Fashion Week.
“A hanger costs, what, a buck? Compare that to the thousands that models make per show and, well, it makes the substitution a no-brainer,” reveals Michael Kors with a slow and thoughtful nod for emphasis.
“Everyone’s feeling the crunch,” agrees Betsey Johnson. “And I figured using hanger models would at least be less desperate-looking than designing a line for Target.”
In addition to the financial benefits, some designers have expressed other reasons to be happy about the wiry new models showcasing their work on the runway.
“There’s been a push for models to be healthier lately,” Marc Jacobs tells us with thinly veiled disgust. “As if women need to menstruate or something. I would think it’s a blessing not to get it! It’s a relief to once again show off our clothes the way they were meant to be worn: on stick figures. It’s what women want, really.”

LOL! This is a very fitting picture to what fashion models have been for years! Strangely, I once dated a very nice and talented writer who had the same idea…King Street in Shippensburg, PA!
Nice one C. I haven’t thought about the clothing hanger analogy in YEARS!
Thanks..
